Description
The urli is the shape Indian homes already know. Fill it with water and flowers for a festival, or with wax and wicks, which is what we have done.
About the Craft
Hand poured in Rajasthan into a shaped urli with a gold or rose rim, then dressed while the wax is setting with dried flowers, greenery and sculpted wax blooms. Multiple wicks, so the whole surface lights. Every one is arranged by hand and no two are the same.
Where to Place It
The centre of a dining table, an entrance console, or the floor of a puja room during the festival days. In Vastu, a lit urli at the entrance is a traditional welcome.
Perfect For
- Diwali, Navratri and housewarming
- Dining table centrepieces
- Corporate gifting at the higher price point
- Wedding and mehendi table styling
Burning It Safely
- Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each burn
- Burn for two to three hours at a time, on a heat-safe surface
- Never leave a lit candle unattended
- Keep away from children, pets and draughts
