Description

Birds carry messages between the visible and invisible in Indian folk tradition, and the Bird Key Holder brings that symbolism to your most practical daily ritual.

Handcrafted by Rajasthan artisans and painted in the folk-art style of Rajasthan, the holder features a beautifully detailed bird form with hooks for your keys. Each bird is hand-painted with the characteristically vibrant palette of Rajasthan craft, no stencils, no mass production, just the work of an artisan’s hand.

A functional piece that brings folk-art warmth to the entrance of a home. An ideal gift for a housewarming, a new apartment, or anyone who appreciates the beauty of handcraft in everyday objects.

When you order, a real craftsperson goes to work. The slight variation in grain, colour, or finish is not a defect. It is the signature of handmade work. Your piece will never be identical to anyone else’s. That is what you are paying for.

The heritage you are gifting

Kadamb Wood Hand-Carving

Handcrafted in Rajasthan, Rajasthan

Material

Kadamb wood (Neolamarckia cadamba), natural lacquer

The craft: Kadamb wood is soft enough to carve in fine detail but durable enough to last generations. Artisans begin with a rough block, sketch the form in chalk, then work through progressively finer chisels over several hours โ€” sometimes days for complex pieces. The lacquer finish is applied by hand in multiple coats.

The People Behind It

Our core Kadamb wood carving families are based in the old city of Rajasthan, where this craft has been practised for over 500 years. Premloom works directly with 12+ artisan families โ€” no middlemen โ€” ensuring fair wages and complete creative freedom for the craftspeople behind every piece.
